The Lookout & Wonderland fiber art project is a concentrated focus on the exploration of the applied arts.  The mission is to create a range of multi-use textiles that allow the viewer to become an active participant in the form and function of the artwork. With the ultimate goal being the creation of a life that is the ideal work of art.

Indigo & Natural Dye Workshops

I'm so very excited to announce two upcoming workshops next month at Neve and Hawk in San Anselmo, Ca.

The workshops will be held on Friday April 7and Saturday April 8

This 3-hour Local Natural Dye Class is being taught by, Niki Livingston, who is a well known indigo dyeing goddess from Los Angeles.

Learn to look at your neighborhood with new eyes by extracting color from local trees and plants. Come explore the colors you can create by working with fresh plant matter that dyer Niki Livingston of Lookout & Wonderland foraged from our local area. Discover the mordanting process of preparing fabric for taking up extracted botanical color and ways of manipulating color by applying post mordants. 

An amazing time will be had by all!

This 5-hour Indigo Intensive Workshop is being taught by, Niki Livingston, who is a well known indigo dyeing goddess from Los Angeles. Come spend the day immersed in the history, alchemy and beauty of the natural Indigo plant, examine the sacred tradition of creating indigo vats, as well as the delicate process of indigo dyeing with expert dyer, Niki Livingston of Lookout & Wonderland. You will also learn hands on how to create two types of chemical free, food grade organic indigo vats that are easy to create at home for a day of dyeing. Then learn the foundation techniques of the art of shibori, along with the conceptual ideas surrounding surface design concerning ready made garments and flat surfaces. Bring a few small pieces to dye and experience the magic of indigo!  *drinks and snacks will be provided. please bring your own lunch. Please find all sign up information below
