A small collection of Susuzome + Sumi shortsleeved sweatshirts.

Susuzome is a dye application that makes use of wood ash, traditionally pine, worked into fiber.

Sumi similarly uses wood ash and animal based glue. As such, these sweatshirts are not vegan.

I made my Susuzome and sumi from the ash from forest fires that burned around our home in the foothills above Los Angeles and the Sequoia forest. Alchemizing destruction into something soft and beautiful.

Small batch Organic French Terry fabric milled in Los Angeles.  Hand cut, sewn & dyed in Susuzome and Sumi ink.
